Pharmacy SMS/MMS Disclosure
These Terms and Conditions (the “Agreement”) govern the use of SMS/MMS or text messaging services (the “Service”) provided by Arbor Family Pharmacy (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By subscribing to, or using our SMS Services, you agree to be bound by the following terms. If you do not agree with these Terms and Conditions, please do not sign up for or use our Service.
Types of Messages You Can Expect to Receive
By providing Arbor Family Health/Innis Community Health Centers, Inc. and Arbor Family Pharmacy (“Arbor Family Health”) your phone number, you are consenting to receive the following types of notifications, that may be delivered using pre-recorded or other automated messages. Where required by law, express written consent or authorization will be obtained separately before sending certain types of communications. The notifications that may require express written consent are marked with an asterisk (*) and are summarized below. Consent or authorization can be revoked at any time and is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You must be 18 years or older in order to participate or have the express permission of a parent/guardian (but in any case, you must be at least 13 years old).
You may receive the following types of messages, depending on your interaction with our pharmacy services:
Transactional Messages: Prescription ready notifications, new or refill prescription reminders, appointment confirmations, or customer service communications related to your pharmacy needs.
Account-Related Messages: Notifications related to your pharmacy account, such as insurance updates, prescription transfers, billing notifications, or service updates.
Public Service Announcements (PSAs): Important health notices, medication recalls, pharmacy hour changes, delivery updates, or other updates that are relevant to your interaction with our pharmacy services, as specified in the campaign.
Texting Cadence
The frequency of messages will vary based on your engagement with Arbor Family Pharmacy services and your medication schedule. You may receive messages on a regular or occasional basis, depending on:
Your prescription refill schedule
Medication adherence programs you’re enrolled in
Pharmacy services updates
The nature of any health programs or services you are subscribed to
Delivery services
Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier for receiving text messages. These rates are determined by your mobile carrier, and Arbor Family Pharmacy is not responsible for any charges or fees that may be incurred by receiving messages from us. Please contact your mobile carrier for information about your messaging plan.
Opting In
By subscribing to our SMS/MMS service, you consent to receive SMS/MMS messages as described above. This consent is not a condition of any purchase or pharmacy service. You may opt-in to receive messages by:
Providing your phone number when filling prescriptions at Arbor Family Pharmacy
Following in other opt-in process outlined in our pharmacy service sign-up
Texting “START” to our pharmacy messaging number
Opting Out
You can opt out of receiving text messages at any time by replying “STOP” to any message we send. Once you opt out, you will no longer receive any text messages from Arbor Family Pharmacy. However, if you wish to opt back in, simply reply “START” to our number. For help with our messaging service, reply “HELP.” Please note that opting out of text messages will not affect your ability to receive pharmacy services, and you can still contact us directly for all your pharmacy needs.
Privacy and Data Collection
Your privacy is important to us. Any personal information you provide to use through our SMS/MMS service will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and HIPAA regulations governing protected health information.
You agree that these messages may include limited personal information about you, and whoever has access to the mobile phone or carrier account will also be able to see this information. You acknowledge and understand that messages are sent without encryption, which presents some security risk. We take your privacy seriously.
By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you consent to our collection of use of your information as outlined in our Privacy Policy. We do not share your personal health information or contact information with third parties for marketing purposes without consent, in compliance with healthcare privacy laws. All health-related communications are protected under applicable healthcare privacy regulations, and we maintain strict confidentiality standards for all patient information.

What sort of messages can we send you?
As your Pharmacy provider, our goal is to stay in touch with you even when you're not in the pharmacy. To keep the lines of communication open and based on need, we can send you messages via voice SMS/MMS, email and secure messages on the Patient Portal through Enliven Health.
Example of communication from our pharmacy can include prescription ready notifications, new or refill prescription reminders, appointment confirmations, customer service communications related to your pharmacy needs, notifications related to your pharmacy account, such as insurance updates, prescription transfers, billing notifications, or service updates, important health notices, medication recalls, pharmacy hour changes, delivery updates, or other updates that are relevant to your interaction with our pharmacy services, as specified in the campaign.
We respect your need for privacy and will not send you telemarketing related messages or share your contact details with any third parties.
What does it mean when you opt-in or activate?
By choosing to opt-in for voice and/or text messages (SMS/MMS) from us, your pharmacy provider, you are consenting to receive phone, text and/or other electronic messages to the number we have provided at Arbor Family Pharmacy. We have chosen to use this automated service reminders offered by Enliven Health. Please direct all your communication directly with us, your pharmacy provider, and not our technology vendor companies.
Please note: Phone, emails and text messages are considered unsecure methods of contact and may result in disclosure of sensitive information to unauthorized individuals. You are assuming the risk involved by activating these services and will not hold the practice responsible.
Can you turn off these services later?
Yes, simply contact Arbor Family Pharmacy, your pharmacy provider and ask to adjust your communication preferences. You can also text STOP to any text message (SMS/MMS) that you receive from us.
On texting STOP, your phone number will be unsubscribed from this service and you will not receive any further pharmacy messaging notifications via text.
What if you need further help?
Please note that these services are either to simply to remind you of important or necessary steps that you need to take for living a better healthier lifestyle or for offering you convenient ways to connect with Arbor Family Pharmacy, your pharmacy provider, outside the walls of the pharmacy. If there is ever an emergency or if you need help, please call 911 or call our Arbor Family Pharmacy/Arbor Family Health during regular business hours right away. Should you need additional help text HELP on reply to a text message and access the same message.
Did you know simple steps you take can protect your health information online?
Password protect any device from which you view or download your health information, both on your mobile phone or home computer. Make sure your password meets the criteria for a strong secure password which means it consists of a at least six characters and uses a combination of letters, numbers, and symbols. Also, if you are using a public computer to access your health information, be sure to log out.
